An opportunity and pathway for elite rugby players in Sydney.

Sydney Juniors and NSW Juniors would like to invite all U17 & U18  eligible players for the forthcoming season to trial for a place in the Sydney U18 Representative team. This elite program will be the initial step in the pathway towards the NSWJRU U18 team.

Looking forward, The NSW Junior Rugby Team is planned to compete against a NSW XV Schools side and also the VIC U18 team.

All the representative team matches will be attended by talent identifying selectors from the NSW Waratahs U19 program for spots in their next season squad. We would like to thank Tim Rapp and his team for their support.

Under 18 Representative Pathway for Club Rugby players

We have created a true and meaningful Representative pathway for our U18 rugby players.

The program is open to all U17 & U18 players whom are registered and playing in the forthcoming season for SJRU Opens team or a Premier Rugby Colts team. There will be a minimum requirement of club games played during the season to remain eligible for the Representative teams.

2017 Season Trials: Sunday 19th and Sunday 26th March at St Luke’s Oval Concord.

All Clubs are invited to enter an U18 team to trial.

We will be running a pre-season U18 round robin competition for all clubs to enter which will act as the Trials for the Sydney U18 Representative team.

We see this as an opportunity for clubs to utilize as pre-season trials as well as the Rep trials process. If clubs do not have enough U18 players in their colts programs we are organizing a Barbarians team to compete. Should a club have 12 or 13 x U18 players we will consider dispensation for U19 players to play in the trials but they would not be eligible for selection.

Players must compete in these trials to be considered for selection.

All team or individual player nominations need to be in by Wednesday 8th March.

If you are interested in trialing please contact your club, or email Robert Martin or Ben Gregory (see details below) for further information.
